How to Play: Predict the Future to Earn Points

1. Create or post in a thread with a prediction of something that will be reported in the news in the future
2. State the who, what, where, when, and why of your prediction
3. The "what" and the "when" will determine the accuracy of your prediction
4. Every prediction you make will count as one prediction, every correct prediction you make will give you one point
5. The amount of points you earned compared to the amount of predictions you have made will create your ratio or percentile (points earned/predictions made = your score)
6. Your rank will be determined by your ratio or percentile.
7. You must make 10 predictions to be placed on the scoreboard, these predictions will count towards your ratio

Rules

1. All Predictions must be made with a Trip Code
2. No predictions for petty crime will be admissible
3. If a news publication shows the prediction was made after the event, the prediction will be void
4. Each week in advance that a prediction is made will count for one prediction. This means that if you get the prediction right three weeks in advance you will get 3/3 added to your ratio. However, if you get it wrong, you will get 0/3 added to your ratio.
5. Prediction will be voided if it has already been reported in a news publication (editorials or opinion pieces are ok)
6. If participant participated in predicted event, it is void
7. You can simply agree with someone else's prediction to gain points, but you must clearly state that you want to add their prediction to your ratio
8. This is a fluid game, and whether predictions are significant enough to count towards points will be somewhat subjective. In other words, don't make stupid predictions about a car accident in the USA on July 15th, 2015. That is too broad and will be ignored. HOWEVER, you will be told it has been ignored and you are free to argue your case on the board.
